The purposes of SELCA are to serve as a network for lactation professionals, enhance the reputation, image and credibility of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) according to the Scope of Practice for IBCLCs, provide continuing education for the membership and the surrounding community, and serve as a local chapter of the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA) and as an affiliate of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA)
